Sometimes, you need to type in languages other than English. Thankfully, there's a way to do this without getting a new operating system. Here's how.
Steps:
- Go to Start → Control Panel → Regional and Language Options → Add other languages.
- In the lower box, check the check box next to the words "Install files for East Asian Languages".
- Hit the "Details" button in the upper box.
- On the right of the list of languages you have on your computer, click "Add..."
- Choose your language and hit "OK".
- Select "Apply" (this is the window with the "Add..." button on it).
- Select "Apply" (this is the first window that you opened).
Tips:
- During the process, you may need to insert the XP CD so the relevant files can be copied across to your computer.
- A typical Windows XP CD will have a folder on the disk called "i386". This entire folder can be copied to the hard drive and then can be referenced for anything needing the WinXP Disk. When a program asks you for the CD, select the path on the hard drive where you copied this folder to.
